Back-to-School outreach with ISCD volunteers

We lead community-driven development so that vulnerable people can take part in activities that give them a quality livelihood and the means to sustain themselves.

ISCD is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in 2019 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Our work runs on the power and spirit of volunteerism, from back-to-school support and free medical outreach to skills training and civic education.

Why we exist

The needs that started ISCD, and still guide it

  1. Children out of school

A rising number of children in our communities are not in school. Back-to-School and Help Them Finish School exist to bring them back and keep them there.

  2. Poverty without a livelihood

Many people, mostly women, have no means of earning. Skills training and entrepreneurial development open a path to self-reliance.

  3. Too few standard development initiatives

Communities need programmes delivered to a clear standard, with records and results that partners can check.

  4. Families and children at risk

Man-made disasters, economic downturns and natural catastrophes put families at risk and lower living standards.
